Your Healing Journey Awaits

How Honor Vision Program Works

The ophthalmic acupuncture techniques used in our clinic are designed to enhance blood circulation to the eyes and optic nerve. The needles are placed on the hands, feet, and around the eyes never into the eye itself. The entire procedure is very safe. Improved circulation supports oxygen and nutrient delivery to stressed or compromised ocular tissues. This increased support may also help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, both of which play a role in many eye conditions.

The goal of treatment is to improve blood flow to the retina. Enhanced circulation supports oxygen and micronutrient delivery and provides stimulation to the optic and retinal nerves. This approach may help support cellular function in compromised retinal tissue, preserve existing vision, and, in some cases, improve visual performance. Slowing or stabilizing vision loss is considered a positive outcome, and some patients experience measurable improvement.

How is Progress Measured?

To accurately track your progress, we ask that you complete an eye exam with your eye doctor before starting care. This provides a clear baseline so we can assess how your eyes respond after the initial treatment program. A follow-up exam after treatment allows us to evaluate results and determine whether additional care may be beneficial.

How Often Will I need Treatment?

Because eye tissue is complex, meaningful change requires multiple treatments delivered over a short period. While treatment plans are individualized, we typically recommend two treatments per day over three weeks. For out-of-town patients, this can be condensed into four treatments per day over one week.

Treatment schedules vary depending on your condition and whether you live locally or are traveling.

For Local Patients:

Most treatment plans are completed over approximately three weeks, though the timeline may be extended when clinically appropriate. For degenerative eye conditions such as macular degeneration or retinitis pigmentosa, treatments are typically scheduled closer together for best results.

For Out-Town Patients:

After your initial assessment, your practitioner will recommend a treatment plan tailored to your needs. We also encourage patients to see their optometrist or ophthalmologist before and/or after treatment for proper vision monitoring.

What Results Should I Expect?

  1. A) Most patients notice their vision seems brighter, objects are clearer, and/or their peripheral vision is increasing. In this case, you are responding positively, and we continue with treatments as planned.

  2. B) Some patients report their vision is temporarily blurrier during the first day or two. This is not cause for alarm; the treatments are still working, and the blurriness will diminish within a day or so. With increased circulation, things can get stirred up. This is akin to cleaning up a muddy pond.

  3. C) A small percentage of patients see no change at all in the first round of treatments. If this is the case, we stop treatments. We will follow up in a month, as some patients notice a delayed improvement in vision. Everyone responds at a different rate, and it is important to keep this in mind.
